BEAT AROUND THE BUSH won Best Short at the 12th Broad Humor Film Festival in Venice, California!
I think it can now be an official fact that whenever I am unable to attend a festival, we win an award. Basically, I should never travel and we’ll do really well!

It’s been a busy August for BEAT AROUND THE BUSH, the little old lady orgasm movie that just keeps getting around!
It is fantastic to share that the entire cast of the film were acknowledged for their talent and hard work this past weekend when the Atlanta Underground Film Festival Awarded us and award for Best Ensemble Cast. Huge congrats to Brenda Matthews, Mary Black, Gina Stockdale, and of course, Kacey Rohl.

“Beat Around the Bush” is an official selection at the 10th Annual Broad Humour Film Festival
After the HollyShorts, and Atlanta Underground screenings in August, BEAT AROUND THE BUSH is heading back to Los Angeles once again and will be screening in Venice Beach as part of the 10th Broad Humour Film Festival.
The Broad Humour Film Festival runs August 31st-September 3rd, 2017 and is a place where funny broads hang out with funny broads. Our lead actress Brenda Matthews will definitely be in attendance, and it’s possible I will be as well!

“Beat Around the Bush” is an official selection at the 2017 Atlanta Underground Film Festival
After the HollyShorts screening on August 15th, 2017, BEAT AROUND THE BUSH is heading to Atlanta, Georgia to be a part of the Atlanta Underground Film Festival.
The Atlanta Underground Film Festival runs August 18th-20th, 2017 and is known for promoting creative artists who create grass-roots movies that break the boundaries of film and video. That and the festival is, and a quote, “a non-stop party”.

The next two months have some exciting screenings in store for BEAT AROUND THE BUSH. The film that just keeps going!
HollyShorts is an Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival and they have selected us to screen alongside some other fantastic films. The festival runs August 10th-19th, 2017 in Los Angeles at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood.

The 18th Annual Shorts International Festival is a festival that only screens films that have previously won awards, and I’m happy to announce that BEAT AROUND THE BUSH has been officially selected. The festival runs July 1st-8th in Trieste, Italy and having been there myself once (whilst hitchhiking across Europe), I would love to go again!

Beat Around the Bush has been officially selected by the 39th Denver International Film Festival running November 2-13th, 2016!
What is the theme of this program? “Feel like you’re stuck in a bad situation? Yeah, me too.”
The other director’s in attendance are Brian Petsos (LIGHTNINGFACE) and producer Adam Davies (The Itching).
“Our 39th Festival program truly has something for everyone—from the delightful dance-filled comedies of Tribute guests Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon to the diverse slate of works that makes up our country of focus, Spain, from timely and serious documentaries such as Do Not Resist and Jackson to the always curious and creepy Late Night Showcase,” said Brit Withey, Artistic Director.
During the 12-day Festival, DFF39 will present more than 200 titles representing local, national and international independent films, as well as industry panels, workshops, achievement awards and tributes; featuring more than 130 filmmaker guests in-person. Festival packages are now on sale at www.denverfilm.org. Individual tickets will go on sale Tuesday, October 11 for DFS Members. We’re having a good few weeks with official selections from established and respected film festivals for my short comedy, “Beat Around the Bush“.
I’m proud to announce that the 25th Arizona International Film Festival will be screening “Beat Around the Bush” as part of the 2016 program. The Festival runs for TWO WHOLE WEEKS from April 14th-May 1st, 2016.
“Staying true to its mission of showcasing independent film, the Arizona International Film Festival has exhibited over 2,500 films representing 90 countries to over 148,000 patrons in southern Arizona. And now, we are honoured to select more exciting and innovative films from around the world for Arizona audiences.”
