The Atlanta Underground Film Festival has Officially Selected “Beat Around the Bush”

“Beat Around the Bush” is an official selection at the 2017 Atlanta Underground Film Festival

After the HollyShorts screening on August 15th, 2017, BEAT AROUND THE BUSH is heading to Atlanta, Georgia to be a part of the Atlanta Underground Film Festival. 

The Atlanta Underground Film Festival runs August 18th-20th, 2017 and is known for promoting creative artists who create grass-roots movies that break the boundaries of film and video. That and the festival is, and a quote, “a non-stop party”.

“Beat Around the Bush” is officially selected at the HollyShorts Film Festival

The next two months have some exciting screenings in store for BEAT AROUND THE BUSH. The film that just keeps going!

HollyShorts is an Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival and they have selected us to screen alongside some other fantastic films. The festival runs August 10th-19th, 2017 in Los Angeles at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood.

I’m receiving the WIFTV Encore Vancouver Newcomer Spotlight Award

It’s been a pretty good run the last couple of months with numerous accolades and awards stacking up on my office shelf for YOUNG & RECKLESS.

It feels pretty stellar to also be receiving The Encore Vancouver Newcomer Award from the Women in Film & Television Spotlight Awards. Here’s what the award looks like:

This year’s award recipients are Liz Shorten, Tara Armstrong, Maja Aro, Karin Lee, Meg Thornton, Mark Leiren-Young, Paul Armstrong, Shauna Johannesen, Brianne Nord-Stewart, Lucia Cheung, Valerie Creighton, Heather Conway, & Carolle Brabant. Our award recipients have shown outstanding dedication, effort and ability behind the scenes, or behind the camera, and have made a significant impact on the screen-based media industry as leaders in their field and as advocates for women in the industry. Beat Around the Bush selected by Maremetraggio Shorts International Film Festival

The 18th Annual Shorts International Festival is a festival that only screens films that have previously won awards, and I’m happy to announce that BEAT AROUND THE BUSH has been officially selected. The festival runs July 1st-8th in Trieste, Italy and having been there myself once (whilst hitchhiking across Europe), I would love to go again!

I just got word from the head of the Pilot Light UK TV Fest in Manchester that YOUNG & RECKLESS won Best International Web Series this weekend!

Young & Reckless is the 2017 Pilot Light TV Fest Best International Web Series Winner

“On Saturday 6th May at MCR Central Library as part of Pilot Light TV Festival Season 2 we held our very first awards ceremony for our TV Pilots and Web Series content that were in competition, and what a competition it was! The quality of the content submitted to us for this Season was incredibly high and came in from all corners of the globe. It was very hard for our programming team to narrow the selection down to our lineup, let alone judge our very first awards. That being said we feel all of our winners (and nominees) should be proud of themselves and we cannot wait to see where their projects head next.”
