Another 48 Hour Film Completed! Kryshan Randel’s SEASICK

This weekend was so crazy! I had the fortune of being the Editor and Co-writer of Kryshan Randel‘s team for the 2012 Bloodshots Canada 48 Hour Horror Filmmaking Contest!

The short film we made is called, SEASICK which you can view and share online for a limited time! Check it out on the Bloodshots website.

Please support us by voting for this film by clicking the red “VOTE” button at the right hand corner of the page and then share the link with your friends! Voting starts RIGHT NOW and ends on Monday, Oct 29 at 7pm.

Please spread the word to everyone to help by voting for our film! If we get enough votes, we will win the Audience Choice Award and be eligible for the Grand Jury Prize, which is judged by George Romero, director of the Night Of the Living Dead trilogy! There are other awards too for things like: Best Film, Best Script, Best Makeup, Best Death, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Original Score, and more.

I won the Bloodshots Best Film and Grand Prize Awards in 2010 with my short THE PROVIDER, and Kryshan has won more than one Grand Prize throughout the years as well!

The screening and awards info will be on Hallowe’en (Wednesday, Oct 31) at 7pm, at the Rio Theatre 1660 E. Broadway @ Commercial Drive. If you’re interested in attending tickets are sold at www.celluloidsocialclub.com

I will keep you posted on the results.

Thank you all so much for your support!

A shout-out to Andy Thompson

Andy Thompson, who co-produced and co-wrote The Provider, is now directing an interactive theatre adventure all over downtown Vancouver!

The 2-hour show starts in Yaletown but travels to different venues as the plot moves. The coolest thing about Andy’s show is that he puts you, as the audience, as the star of the show!

I am super proud of Andy Thompson for this upcoming play. In an interview with the Province, Andy said that he “got hooked” after his experience making The Provider, which won first prize in a North America-wide Bloodshots short contest.

With five daily shows from Oct 13 – 31, this is a show you definitely don’t want to miss out on!

Please help support Andy!

Completely missed this! The Provider Screened in Puerto Rico!

My short film, The Provider screened in Puerto Rico last month as part of the Tenth Edition of Cinefiesta (July 22nd. To 29th. 2012). Ninety two shorts were selected amongst 1,624 submitted.
Sadly we did get the email but then it got lost! Co-Producer Andy Thompson and I wish we could have gone!

THE PROVIDER goes to Boston, Massachusetts on September 15th for Etheria

“It’s been on my mind that while programming the Viscera Film Festival, I come across so many amazing short films directed by women that aren’t quite horror-y enough, or not horror at all, but that still have an amazing fantastical element to them. It makes me sad to have to forget about those films. So, in 2012, we decided not to.” – Heidi Honeycutt

It is a great honor that my short film THE PROVIDER is not only programmed on the Viscera Film Festival TOUR but to also be one of the first films to screen as part of the first ever Etheria Film Festival! Who knew a twisted post-apocalyptic alternate-history psychological thriller would do so well Not to mention it was made in 48 Hours!

The screening is not until September 15, 2012 so mark your calenders and let your Boston friends know!

Also check out www.etheriafilmfestival.com and the Facebook event page for the festival details and to share with your friends!
