The Provider (2011), a horror film co written and produced by myself and Andy Thompson, and directed and edited by moi, is now available for free for your viewing pleasure through Canada’s National Screen Institute’s Online Film Festival.
My 2008 short films, Why I Bought a Bike, and Why I Fired My Secretary both screen in 2011 as part of the film festival and it is a pleasure to be selected once again.
It is also a pleasure to see Pardis Parker and Jamie Travis‘ shorts up on the site as well. If you get a chance to see Jamie’s debut feature film, For a Good Time Call… I highly recommend it! And it looks like its out on DVD soon!
Four times a year, NSI presents three awards: the A&E Short Filmmakers Award ($1,250) to the best film, Bite Comedy Award ($750) for best comedy and the Shaw Fearless Female Director Award ($2,500) for best film by a female director. Read more about the awards.
We look forward to watching all of the newly added films, and our fingers our crossed for some cash!
Thank you for the opportunity NSI you are doing an amazing job supporting emerging filmmakers.
