The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) , screened THE PROVIDER, directed by myself, and written with Andy Thompson as part of the 1 Reel Film Festival for Bumbershoot, Seattle’s Music and Arts Festival, September 1-3 at Seattle Center. IT WAS A SOLD OUT EVENT!

The 1 Reel Film Festival is Bumbershoot’s celebration of cinematic brevity- continuously screening over 100 of the world’s best short films over three days. Founded in 1995, the 1 Reel Film Festival is now a Bumbershoot tradition, and is one of the nation’s best attended short format festivals in the US, drawing nearly 10,000 filmgoers, filmmakers, and industry each year. All short films will screen at SIFF Cinema in 45-90 minute packages.

Since 1971, Bumbershoot has drawn artists representing the best in music, film, comedy, spoken word, dance, theatre, performance, and visual arts to Seattle Center over Labor Day weekend. North America’s largest urban arts festival, Bumbershoot takes place in the heart of the city at the 74-acre Seattle Center. Completely missed this! The Provider Screened in Puerto Rico!

My short film, The Provider screened in Puerto Rico last month as part of the Tenth Edition of Cinefiesta (July 22nd. To 29th. 2012). Ninety two shorts were selected amongst 1,624 submitted.
Sadly we did get the email but then it got lost! Co-Producer Andy Thompson and I wish we could have gone!

THE PROVIDER goes to Boston, Massachusetts on September 15th for Etheria

It’s been on my mind that while programming the Viscera Film Festival, I come across so many amazing short films directed by women that aren’t quite horror-y enough, or not horror at all, but that still have an amazing fantastical element to them. It makes me sad to have to forget about those films. So, in 2012, we decided not to.” – Heidi Honeycutt

It is a great honor that my short film THE PROVIDER is not only programmed on the Viscera Film Festival TOUR but to also be one of the first films to screen as part of the first ever Etheria Film Festival! Who knew a twisted post-apocalyptic alternate-history psychological thriller would do so well Not to mention it was made in 48 Hours!

The screening is not until September 15, 2012 so mark your calenders and let your Boston friends know!
